Full on Major Monkey

Well it looks like blogger changed.  NOT A FAN!!  Why does everyone feel the need to change things that aren't broken?!  Facebook timeline anyone?  No thank you.  New Blogger format anyone?  No thank you.

Well I suppose that's enough whining for one post...

On a brighter note, the fabulous chicas of TTWT have answered the age old question: No, you cannot do rock moves on a ukelele!  I'm sure that has been keep some of you up at night, but you can rest easy tonight.

Also, we wanted to pass on a warning that we received tonight.  Well, maybe it's not really a warning, but maybe a life motto of sorts.  I suppose we can let you all judge for yourselves, so here it is: "Don't wake up in a road-side ditch!"  For some people those could indeed be words to live by!

For the second meeting in a row we had the pleasure of our dearest physician's company - it was wonderful.  Due to previous engagements, we were a bit behind on our Fairly Legal episodes, so we enjoyed 3 (yes, three) whole episodes!  It would seem that Ben is begining to have a soul.  Although our members are a bit divided on the issue.  We have hated Ben's guts for so long that we're not really sure what to do about him & Kate together...  On one hand Kate seems to make him be a better man (a better human being in fact), but we love Justin - we've loved him from the beginning.  We wanted him & Kate to make this work!!  Only time will tell - but he better not be using her.... And Leo, oh Leo you are still just as fabulous as ever - so clever, and that inattentional blindness trick with the clown wig was superb.

Our favorite quote from the night's episodes (we might be paraphrasing a bit): "The gods love irony - like when a tornado destroys a wind chime store!"  We're just glad he used the term irony correctly - so few people do these days....

So one final thought - why in the world can't Ben wear his hair like this in the show!!??

Here's one for the Side-Kick

We have touched on this subject before (mysaltysociables.blogspot.com/2011/09/pretzels.html), but I believe it is worth repeating - and today we will delve deeper into the importance of an assistant in TV shows. It could be thought of as
*yes we just made that up, but I think by the end of this post you'll agree that it is valid
For every Batman, you need a great side-kick and in the office world, your side-kick is your assistant.

As we've mentioned before, Melissa's assistant Stephanie (from Melissa & Joey) is a great asset to the show.  She's hyperactive and has a crush on Joe, which always makes us laugh.  In Drop Dead Diva Jane has a great no-nonsense, go-getter for an assistant.

Terri keeps Jane grounded and doesn't like to take crap from people, and makes sure Jane doesn't either. Plus the fact that she's a Private Detective (as well as an assistant) makes her super cool in our book.

In Fairly Legal, Kate Reed has a fabulous assistant named Leonardo Prince (usually called Leo for short).  He's enthusiastic, quite resourceful and he has a knack for keeping Kate out of trouble with her boss and her clients (yes, I paraphrased that from Wikipedia, but why rewrite what already works?).

The character bio on USA's website states that Leo is “…unflappable, and, thanks to his vast and varied connections – and seeming ability to know what Kate needs before even she knows she needs it – invaluable.”  And they made my point – plain as day.  These assistants are invaluable to the shows!  Plus I like the added depth they give to the shows...the subplots and such.  Well, I hope that you'll agree with us that they're indispensable.  And if you have an assistant, please thank them, because you know you couldn't do it without them.

We also want to point out that although our poll was in no way scientific (since only 3 people voted), the Peach Gummies won with 66% of the votes.

Peace, Love, and Zappatos to you all.....
