"Joyful Noise" Review

A SHORT & SWEET REVIEW: It's a fabulous movie and you should all go see it.

The combination of Dolly Parton & Queen Latifa was sublime - they went together like butter & biscuits!  Would love to see them do more movies together...

The crazy chicas here at TTWT may not be southern, but they grew up in small-town Baptist churches so they could most definitely relate to the plot line.  Inlcuding the part where the mother doesn't let the daughter hang out with boys even though she's 16 already.  The choir's final musical number completely blew us away - it was indeed the icing on the cake.  Sorry to switch tenses on you there - just seemed more "movie reviewerish" to speak in 3rd person...

Great to see this year’s turn out in Washington, D.C. for the 39th annual March for Life, despite the drizzly rain and cold temperatures.  Our favorite chant from this year was:

"Hey Obama, your momma chose life!"

Pretty fabulous don't you think?  We also loved the group wearing Dr. Seuss hats and carrying signs saying “A Person’s A Person, No Matter How Small!”

We visited the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum while in D.C. but there was no mention of the abortion holocaust.

Just a little throw back to our birthday weekend trip :)


We had our TTWT on Saturday this week, after catching the last few minutes of a loved one's basketball game.  Everyone says putz - who doesn't say putz?  

In an attempt to balance work and mother-hood, I delegated grocery shopping to my young babysitter.  But the job proved a tad daunting.  One day while I was at work, she texted me from the supermarket, "can't find the Brillo pads, all they have are Tampax and Kotex."

Just a little joke we read in Reader's Digest - thought you might enjoy that. 
Anyway, we had the pleasure of watching  The Disorderly Orderly this afternoon.  It is a very unique movie, with a somewhat murky plot line.  Jerry Lewis has a phenomenal presence and there are many comical moments.  Our favorite scene was when he finally kisses the girl he's been pining away for since High School and he says to her, "It's not July 4th, it's supposed to be July 4th."  And she replies, "Doesn't July 3rd work too?"  Of course July 3rd doesn't work - everyone knows that, but she so desperately wanted to be loved...

New Year's Resolutions - to never make another resolution!

Please forgive our tardiness, with everyone heading back to work and school after the holiday break we just haven't been able to get together!  Even our plans for tonight were thwarted...  But here is a new post to tide you over until next week :)

One of our well beloved, nay, 2 of our well beloved members would quality as "Man Magnets" and the rest of us not so much, so upon stumbling across this article it was a bit of a "EUREEKA!" moment.

It's Christmas Time in the City

Don't you just love that song?  You get your hands clappin' and you start swaying... hahaha maybe that's just us J but it is a great song...

 Well, no Christmas season is complete until you have watched  "White Christmas" - so since there are only 5 days left we figured we had better get to it!  We are delighted that our dear physician can be here with us tonight - it has been much too long!  And don't forget - "never mix buttermilk and liverwurst"!!!

It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas!

It's been awhile since we had a true TTWT - but here we are at last.

Hahahaha, we're just kidding, all we want for Christmas is "harsher punishment for parole violators.... AND World Peace!!"  But if Santa sends us some ruggedly handsome cowboys I don't think we'll be complaining ;)

We watched a Christmas movie tonight while enjoying some Christmas cookies - then we decorated the Christmas tree!  It was a lovely evening full of fun and laughter - we were only missing our beloved Physician to be....  She unfortunately could not join us because she has finals to study for - but she was with us in spirit!

On a random side note you have gotta read this blog post - so stinkin funny and I can totally see this happening to us (minus the foul language - no pun intended)  :)
