Merry Belated Christmas

It just occured to us that with the craziness of December, buying Christmas gifts and member trips to Panama, we forgot to "reveal" the end results from our Christmas Photo Shoot!!  Our sincerest apologies.... We hope you enjoy :)

Our Regularly Scheduled Programming

You know how it goes.  You've had a bad day, you need a laugh and some eye candy - so you hop on over to Totally Time-Worthy Tuesdays.  We've been slacking in one of those departments and I know at least one of our dear readers noticed (you know who you are)...  So we now return you to our regularly scheduled programming:

Gaspard Ulliel
What is the best Christmas present in the world?  A broken drum - you can't beat it!

Sam Page
What do you call people who are afraid of Santa Clause?  Claustrophobic

How much did Santa pay for his sleigh?  Nothing, it was on the house.

A Not So Silent Night

Anyone who's ever been a part of a Time-Worthy Tuesday knows it's never a very quiet occasion.  Especially when we haven't seen each other in awhile and tonight was of course no exception :)  We clipped a lot of coupons and then decided it was time to watch a Christmas movie.  We watched so many last year, but just haven't had time this year.  It was finally decided that we should watch "The Christmas Card" - a cheesy and predictable movie, but we enjoyed it nonetheless.  Richard & Luke totally made the movie, their shenanigans made us chuckle while Faith's awkwardness made us grimace.  Seriously - who walks into a restaurant and starts eating food left on the table?

Luke in regards to Faith's engagement: "So I'm sure you've heard the news.... Richard is wearing black."

Well in light of the movie we watched, we just wanted to take a quick moment to remember those deployed - enjoy this lovely poem as a reminder of their sacrifices:

A Soldier Is A Gift

As we celebrate Christmas, and we open our gifts,
we realize what priceless gifts a soldier gives to our country—
the gifts of patriotism, service, and deep dedication to our nation.

As we feast on a variety of fine Christmas delicacies,
we acknowledge that a soldier personifies a variety of fine qualities:
courage, good character, honor, fortitude amidst hardship,
persistence in subduing evil, and bravery in the face of danger.

A soldier is a cut above the rest of us,
doing jobs we could not or would not do.
While we are surrounded by Christmas comforts,
we remember soldiers in places we would not want to be,
bringing the gift of adaptability to any situation,
no matter how harsh or difficult.

As we "ooh" and "aah" over the Christmas lights and shiny ornaments
we recognize that a soldier gives us the most cherished gift of all,
the shining light of freedom.

At Christmas, let us wrap our hearts and minds
around our treasured soldiers.
May they understand how very much their service means to us.
Let us send the Christmas gifts of love, respect and admiration
to our steadfast, loyal, magnificent warriors
and their essential civilian support staff.

They themselves are the most precious Christmas gift of all,
our protectors—our soldiers.

Two White Girls in Panama

Today’s post doesn’t quite qualify as a “guest post” since it’s about 2 of our members, but since it doesn’t involve all of them it almost seems like a guest post.  As you might have guessed from the title, two of our members are recently returned from Panama.  Below is a cheerful look into their adventure:

Surfing. That was the whole point of our trip. I had never tried it, but my sister had. Unbeknownst to me, she actually had a horrible first experience and didn’t really want to try again! She knew it was my dream though, so she came along anyway (what a great sister). We headed to a small town in Panama called San Carlos that is located along El Palmar beach. The landscape is beautiful -tropical vegetation, rocky cliffs and beaches with a mixture of white and black sand. Our surf instructor said the black sand (from a volcanic eruption) is actually magnetic. If we ever go back we’re taking a magnet to test that out… We stood out like sore thumbs – which we’re actually getting used to at this point in our travelling careers. They’re all so tan, and here we are, pale flesh that hasn’t seen sunshine in months and doesn’t even tan when it does. Anyway, we slathered on our sunscreen before heading out for our first lesson. We had so much fun and both stood up on the board on our first or second try! We had expected it to be much hard than it was – but I think Ricardo made it easy for us (well as easy as one can without being able to control the waves). Catching a wave by yourself and having the locals cheer you on is such a great feeling. We still have lots to learn, but we definitely got a great foundation. We definitely had our share of board rash and drank our share of saltwater - but it was all worth it. There’s just nothing quite like being on the ocean, whether it’s on a surf board or a boogie board. Sitting on my board just staring out into the seemingly endless ocean waiting for a wave – words just don’t describe it.

So although we missed being together we know Christmas is coming and we’ll soon all be together again. Now, if we could all take a surf trip together - that would be ot of this world.... Well, as they say in Panama – Zapatos!

**Yes, we know they don’t say Zapatos as a salutation in Panama – but it is a Spanish word!  Oh and just so you all know - that photo isn't ours either :p

Happy December Everyone!

We have unfortunately been remiss in answering our most recent poll question.  The crazy chicas of TTWT have sent just over $16,000 worth of coupons to our Air Force base in Germany!!  Thank you all for your help in our efforts to support our troops.  I'm sure some of you have by now noticed our new blog header - courtesy of our Christmas photo shoot.  We have 18 cards signed and ready to send to various soldiers wishing them a Very Merry Christmas.

After the last Cat Fail video so many of you enjoyed, I thought we'd share another one.  Check out this little guy's dance moves:

Don't you wish you had his skills?

Well I hope you all have a wonderful 1st day of December - Zapatos!
