Merry Belated Christmas

It just occured to us that with the craziness of December, buying Christmas gifts and member trips to Panama, we forgot to "reveal" the end results from our Christmas Photo Shoot!!  Our sincerest apologies.... We hope you enjoy :)

Our Regularly Scheduled Programming

You know how it goes.  You've had a bad day, you need a laugh and some eye candy - so you hop on over to Totally Time-Worthy Tuesdays.  We've been slacking in one of those departments and I know at least one of our dear readers noticed (you know who you are)...  So we now return you to our regularly scheduled programming:

Gaspard Ulliel
What is the best Christmas present in the world?  A broken drum - you can't beat it!

Sam Page
What do you call people who are afraid of Santa Clause?  Claustrophobic

How much did Santa pay for his sleigh?  Nothing, it was on the house.

A Not So Silent Night

Anyone who's ever been a part of a Time-Worthy Tuesday knows it's never a very quiet occasion.  Especially when we haven't seen each other in awhile and tonight was of course no exception :)  We clipped a lot of coupons and then decided it was time to watch a Christmas movie.  We watched so many last year, but just haven't had time this year.  It was finally decided that we should watch "The Christmas Card" - a cheesy and predictable movie, but we enjoyed it nonetheless.  Richard & Luke totally made the movie, their shenanigans made us chuckle while Faith's awkwardness made us grimace.  Seriously - who walks into a restaurant and starts eating food left on the table?

Luke in regards to Faith's engagement: "So I'm sure you've heard the news.... Richard is wearing black."

Well in light of the movie we watched, we just wanted to take a quick moment to remember those deployed - enjoy this lovely poem as a reminder of their sacrifices:

A Soldier Is A Gift

As we celebrate Christmas, and we open our gifts,
we realize what priceless gifts a soldier gives to our country—
the gifts of patriotism, service, and deep dedication to our nation.

As we feast on a variety of fine Christmas delicacies,
we acknowledge that a soldier personifies a variety of fine qualities:
courage, good character, honor, fortitude amidst hardship,
persistence in subduing evil, and bravery in the face of danger.

A soldier is a cut above the rest of us,
doing jobs we could not or would not do.
While we are surrounded by Christmas comforts,
we remember soldiers in places we would not want to be,
bringing the gift of adaptability to any situation,
no matter how harsh or difficult.

As we "ooh" and "aah" over the Christmas lights and shiny ornaments
we recognize that a soldier gives us the most cherished gift of all,
the shining light of freedom.

At Christmas, let us wrap our hearts and minds
around our treasured soldiers.
May they understand how very much their service means to us.
Let us send the Christmas gifts of love, respect and admiration
to our steadfast, loyal, magnificent warriors
and their essential civilian support staff.

They themselves are the most precious Christmas gift of all,
our protectors—our soldiers.

Two White Girls in Panama

Today’s post doesn’t quite qualify as a “guest post” since it’s about 2 of our members, but since it doesn’t involve all of them it almost seems like a guest post.  As you might have guessed from the title, two of our members are recently returned from Panama.  Below is a cheerful look into their adventure:

Surfing. That was the whole point of our trip. I had never tried it, but my sister had. Unbeknownst to me, she actually had a horrible first experience and didn’t really want to try again! She knew it was my dream though, so she came along anyway (what a great sister). We headed to a small town in Panama called San Carlos that is located along El Palmar beach. The landscape is beautiful -tropical vegetation, rocky cliffs and beaches with a mixture of white and black sand. Our surf instructor said the black sand (from a volcanic eruption) is actually magnetic. If we ever go back we’re taking a magnet to test that out… We stood out like sore thumbs – which we’re actually getting used to at this point in our travelling careers. They’re all so tan, and here we are, pale flesh that hasn’t seen sunshine in months and doesn’t even tan when it does. Anyway, we slathered on our sunscreen before heading out for our first lesson. We had so much fun and both stood up on the board on our first or second try! We had expected it to be much hard than it was – but I think Ricardo made it easy for us (well as easy as one can without being able to control the waves). Catching a wave by yourself and having the locals cheer you on is such a great feeling. We still have lots to learn, but we definitely got a great foundation. We definitely had our share of board rash and drank our share of saltwater - but it was all worth it. There’s just nothing quite like being on the ocean, whether it’s on a surf board or a boogie board. Sitting on my board just staring out into the seemingly endless ocean waiting for a wave – words just don’t describe it.

So although we missed being together we know Christmas is coming and we’ll soon all be together again. Now, if we could all take a surf trip together - that would be ot of this world.... Well, as they say in Panama – Zapatos!

**Yes, we know they don’t say Zapatos as a salutation in Panama – but it is a Spanish word!  Oh and just so you all know - that photo isn't ours either :p

Happy December Everyone!

We have unfortunately been remiss in answering our most recent poll question.  The crazy chicas of TTWT have sent just over $16,000 worth of coupons to our Air Force base in Germany!!  Thank you all for your help in our efforts to support our troops.  I'm sure some of you have by now noticed our new blog header - courtesy of our Christmas photo shoot.  We have 18 cards signed and ready to send to various soldiers wishing them a Very Merry Christmas.

After the last Cat Fail video so many of you enjoyed, I thought we'd share another one.  Check out this little guy's dance moves:

Don't you wish you had his skills?

Well I hope you all have a wonderful 1st day of December - Zapatos!

Together Again At Last

Hard to believe, but due to the demands of life we haven’t all 5 been together in quite a while!  And so, this Thanksgiving, we are thankful to God for our family.  We’ve been so richly blessed – more than we deserve.
We got together last night for a Christmas Photo Shoot and we had a blast (as we always do when we're together).  Thanks to the wonders of Pinterest we were able to borrow some great ideas for a Christmas card photo.  We wanted to make some cards so we can send them to our troops and a photo just makes things so much more personal.  So unless you happen to be one of the lucky individuals receiving at TTWT Christmas card, you’ll have to wait until Christmas for a glimpse of our Christmas Photo.  We really wanted to replicate this photo – but thought it might be too dangerous J
As we have often done in the past, we thought we’d let you know our opinion of the new movie Pitch Perfect.   In this case, we are a bit divided.  Definitely funny, but the opinion of how funny varies by person.  Regardless, the music was beautiful – those involved had wonderful voices and tons of talent.  Our biggest gripe was the “Vomit Scenes” – they were totally unnecessary and could have been left of the plot entirely.  Not sure what the writers were thinking when they wrote those scenes – I feel as if it detracted from the movie and the plot as a whole.  The “Flying Burrito” scene however – was quite humorous.
We’d also like to take this opportunity to introduce you to Skylar Astin (he plays Jesse in the film and he’s quite good looking):
And since it’s been awhile since we posted some men – here’s one more for good measure -
Tobias Cameroon
And so we wish you all a very Happy Thanksgiving!

Laughter is the Best Medicine

Well my dear friends and followers of TTWT it has been awhile since I, the recent absent party, have made a post. College Tuesday nights are nothing compared to the days we use to share regularly.  Actually no nights at college are anything at all like the times we have on Tuesdays.

So inoder to make you all laugh I thought I would share this little video of cheer! The more you replay the last 5 seconds the funnier it becomes!

America’s Finest

If someone has done military service,
They earn the title “veteran,” and more;
They earn our deep respect and admiration;
That they are special no one can ignore.

They sacrificed the comforts we enjoy;
The list is long of all the things they gave.
Our veterans are extraordinary people;
They’re loyal, dedicated, true and brave.

When terror and invasion were real threats,
They showed us they could handle any storm.
We owe our freedoms and our very lives
To our veterans, who served in uniform.

Our veterans should be celebrities;
They’re exceptional; no other group compares.
We’re grateful for the many things they’ve done;
They’re always in our hearts and in our prayers.

We owe our veterans support and friendship;
Let no one ever question what they’re worth.
These men and women served us and our country,
Our veterans
the very best on earth.
By Joanna Fuchs

Please remember our Veterans this Sunday, November 11th

GOD BLESS OUR TROOPS

A great big Thank You to all who have served -
from all of us here at TTWT

Dismayed

It is with great regret and sorrow of heart that we share this unfortunate turn of events.  After such a beautiful season finale, USA Network has decided not to renew Fairly Legal. There will be no season 3.
We will never know what might have been between Kate & Ben.... They should put out one last episode wrapping up the story - it seems only fair.

Unfortunately, this is not our only bad news of the day - they have also decided not to renew Common Law as well.  We have no idea what the network was thinking, but judging from their viewer's posts on Facebook, we are not the only ones disappointed.

We will refrain from calling this a tragedy, because as we all know TV shows ending is hardly something to cry over.  We are, however, sad to see such wonderful entertainment end.

We wish the actors best of luck, and hope to see them in new shows soon.

**This post is not meant to be ungrateful in light of recent events.  Our prayers go out to the victims of Hurricane Sandy for their devastating loss.

Overseas Coupon Program

I'm sure by now that most of our followers are aware of our coupon clipping habits.  We often mention that while together we clipped coupons.  But you may not know why we clip coupons. So we've decided to tell you why in hopes that some of you might be interested in doing something similar!  So we present to you a quick introduction to clipping coupons for military members and their families overseas.  We are part of a program called Overseas Coupon Program and they give a list of bases in need of coupons.  We chose a base and then followed the "rules" on their website for how to cut, sort, and package the coupons. Below is an edited version of what the program is and how it works (taken from their website):

Our program serves military families by assisting you to forward "manufacturer's coupons" to overseas military bases.  These bundles of coupons are placed on tables, at the PX/ BX and Commissary, or handed out for use by military members and families on base.  This helps the family save valuable dollars and stretch their budget.
This is not a tax deductible charity.  This is a patriotic charity.  You are supporting the service person and their family by sending coupons that you do not use, and all of the extra ones that you can find, to them.  The service pay rates are no longer below the poverty level, but they are in no way great when you have a family.  Our military service families appreciate your assistance.

Also from their webpage is their explanation of how to participate:

How to Participate

1.  Choose a base from the "Base List" page that says "Yes, Please Adopt Us!" in the left column.
2.  Follow the instructions on the "Adoption Page" to adopt a base.
3.  There will not be a confirmation.  See the "Confirmation Requests" Page for more information.
4.  Follow the instructions set forth on the "FAQ" Page to collect coupons and prepare them for mailing.  You may also wish to visit the "Hints" Page.
5.  Mail the coupons using information from the "Mailing" page.  (Typical questions answered at the bottom)
6.  Report your dollar totals using information from the "Reporting" Page.  (Typical questions answered at the bottom)

It's really quite easy to participate, don't let the instructions fool you.  Their website has answers to any question you would ask - they've been doing this for 17 years so they've compiled quite a list of Q&A.   As a tribute to this post we've put up a new poll for you all to answer - you might even be able to get a hint about the answer by reading past posts (but we're not making any promises).
7.  Annual "Adoption & Donation" Pages will tell you the last time they
were updated until the full year is posted.

Celebrate Good Times, Come On!

At long last, and we do mean long last, our faithful blogger has received a pay raise and a new position at work!  In celebration of this new job, 2 of our dear members felt it necessary to celebrate.  And celebrate we did - Big Girl Style ;)  Yes, we clipped coupons and ate pizza - one of our members even got to use her party glass.  Don't judge us...  We thoroughly enjoyed One for the Money, I mean who can resist a Katherine Heigl flick?  She had fabulous hair throughout the movie and there were two fine gentlemen.  Plus, enough antics to keep us laughing -  how could you not at least crack a smile when her grandma shot the turkey on the dinner table?  We've given you a link so you can enjoy the clip too :)  Granny Shoots Dinner

Stephanie has never been a bounty hunter before, but if becoming a bounty hunter is all it takes to meet men this good looking, apparently I'm in the wrong profession:

Her two best sources were super funny and added some "pizzazz" to the film -

And the final scene is cute – maybe a tad cheesy, but we liked it anyway…
Such a cute smile :)

**We tried not to give too much away, in case any of our dear readers haven’t seen this film….  If you have, tell us your favorite part in the comments!

Well that’s all for now – until next time ZAPATOS!

2nd Annual Pumpkin Palooza...Mr. Golden Guts

Our young college student is back for a few days, and so our annual pumpkin carving extravaganza was scheduled!  Sadly, we were missing one of our dear members....  Alas, she was with us in spirit and this post is written in her honor (and for her benefit).  She said her daily dose of eye-candy had been lacking lately, and that is one drought we can cure.  So if you enjoy the photos below be sure and thank her in the comments J
I'm homeeee! and back blogging for a short time before our dear writer posts. Below you will see some attractive males as well as some gorgeous girls holding some fancrappintastic pumpkins! ENJOY! Hope you have a wonderful Totally Time-Worthy... Friday!
Joe Manganiello
This is actually for a different member who has a love of
pin-striped baseball  pants ;)  You know who you are....
Colton Haynes

So the Fabio of some of our members had a great story about Jacob Ledbetter.  He wanted to be a tow-truck when he grew up, and he drove his teacher in school crazy.  He would sit in the back of the classroom making car noises (vroooooom - vrooomvroooooooooooooooooooooooooommmmm - I think you get the picture).  Well the teacher could only take so much and after a few weeks she could barely stand it!  Jacob was in the back of the room going vrooomvroooooooooooooooooooooomm again and she snapped!  "Jaccob Stop That!" she yelled.  And Jaccob replied: "SCREEEAAAACCCCHHH"

One of our non-baking members was quite brave today and made German Chocolate Cake (it was delicious by the way) with pecans.  While commenting about her method for crushing the pecans one of our other dear members thought she should buy a nut crusher.  Yes, you read that correctly.  After getting our laughter under control, we proceed to explain that they’re called nut crackers, which also brought much laughter.  Needless to say there were a few imitations of THE NUTCRACKER by our young college student.  When all was said and done they decided that the hammer had worked just fine.

Well that’s all we have for now – we hope you enjoyed our ramblings J ZAPATOS!

What hussie wears khaki?

In light of our title post this week (brought to you by our Liberty student), I thought I would mention that there is a word in the English language called "whoredom".  And would you believe me if I told you that I learned that in church Sunday night?  I know, you're jaw dropped open on that one, but please close it - it's not very lady-like to sit around with your mouth hanging open. God told Hosea to take a wife of whoredom (Hosea 1:2 ASV).  Sorry, just had to prove I don't go to some heathen church and that I'm not making that up.  Anyway - enough of that.  Our young one was home for the weekend so we had a Saturday night meeting and enjoyed some a Common Law episode (it was actually the season finale, but we missed the episode before due to poor reception the day that it aired).  You can watch a clip here if you'd like.  It was a wonderful episode and we all loved the fact that it didn't leave you hanging, but we still didn't want the season to be over.  Nice to finally know why they ended up in therapy in the first place (and that they had been friends at one point).     Now all our shows are over for the season, so our meetings will be less frequent - but never fear we will do our best to keep you abreast of all our adventures.  By the way we had a semi-TTWT meeting on Friday night and had a guest help us cut our coupons (a total of 1lb cut and mailed the next day).  Well that's enough rambling for today - how about some pictures?  Yeah - we know you only "read" our blog for the pictures.

We unfortunately did not get to watch this episode due to technical difficulties, but it sure looked like a doosie!
We watched the season finale of Melissa & Joey too!  How could I forget that!?  We were all afraid he was going to marry her, and he did!  Sorry, should have called Spoiler Alert before that sentence.  My bad.  Anyhoo - it was very cute and it all worked out in the end (at least according to us it did).  See for yourself:

Well that's about all we have for now - zapatos & good evening.

It doesn't matter when - it's always a good time!

So although we set out to meet on Tuesdays, schedules don't always permit that, but it doesn't matter when we meet, it's always a good time!  Tonight we were down to 3 members, but we got the opportunity to skype with our youngest member who is off at college so that was fun.  Her most amusing question to us was "How do you put sound effects on a toilet?"  Our answer to that, of course, was that you can't - but it was amusing none-the-less.  So after enjoying a lovely dinner, wrapping some presents, and skyping we watched some Melissa & Joey.  What follows is a brief description of the episode: "Lennox begins and internship with Mel at City Hall, where she befriends a boy who works for Mel's "enemy".  Mel tries to teach her a lesson in politics, but that only backfires.  Meanwhile, Joe begins a long-distance relationship with a Russian women."

Joe: "Good grief, there's two of you!"

She shows up unannounced - although as you can see Joe doesn't really mind...
De Nada.

We were a bit disappointed in the lack of general common sense about the Russian women.  She's clearly only there for a visa (and to escape prison - it's just sad that she's using Joe)....

We can't wait to see what happens in the finale - here's a sneak peak photo:

Well until next time - remember "Calendars don't lie!" That little fact just might help you win Jeopardy or something someday...  ZAPATOS!

The Long Goodbye...

One of our dearest, and most faithful members will soon be leaving us, heading off to college in a nearby state.  Although we are most saddened by this coming event, we know it is a part of life.  We were able to have one last TTWT and enjoy some of our most favorite past-times.  Some Country Rock Band and Just Dance were enjoyed, along with 2 of our favorite shows.

On the Common Law docket was episode 10 in which Travis & Wes get visits from their respective mentors.  It was quite entertaining to learn where they each learned their "method" of police work from.  They both want to respect their mentors, but they're really just getting in the way of their investigation.  Also, despite the combined years of high school and college Spanish between us all, we couldn't figure out what "El Ingeniero" meant, and why they would call a drug-lord legend such a name.  So after a speedy Google search we realized it means "engineer".  Tricky, but still doesn't make total sense...it would fit better if it meant "ingenious" or something. Well as you can see - both Wes & Travis truly take after their mentors (whether they'd admit it or not).  Feel free to comment on all the similarities in this photo....

Can you guess what our episode of Melissa & Joey was about from this picture?

If you guessed Lennox learning how to drive, then you would be absolutely correct.  Lots of great moments - Mel told Joe that he is her "co-parent person" which was super cute and then she followed that up with a totally awkward (but funny) comment.  We don't want to spoil it for you, so we'll just let you watch the episode and see for yourself.  We also found this super cute picture on the M&J Facebook page:

Doesn't it just make you smile?  Go ahead, make it your desktop background, we won't tell : )

We're doin business...

So it would seem that our last few posts have focused mainly on men (and manly men at that), so we thought that despite the Olympic Craze, we should get down to  business and reveiw some TV shows again.  You know, get back to our roots.  We so enjoy the humor of Melissa & Joey and tonight was no exception.  Here's a visual of some of the whimsical events from last night's episode:

Our favorite line from this episode was "So when we meet in hell my flames will be on high and yours will only be on simmer"! hahaha does anyone remember that line?  Priceless :)

When Joe walked in on a scene similar to this one, his only comment was "You can just smell the crazy in here"

Then of course we watched Common Law because those men are fabulous.  Check out this photo:
Looks like they're arguing, which is probably true.  However they had a fabulous moment at the end of last night's episode where Travis opened up about his past.  It was very heartfelt and we appreciated it, as I'm sure Wes did too.  Although this episode is a few weeks past, we sure love this photo ;)

We were unable to find a photo of this scene, but this was our favorite quote from last night's episode, so we'll try to do the story justice. "Put a camera pen on him, him!"  Hahaha, Wes and Travis sure do fight, but when they have an ingenious moment it sure is perfect.  Wes didn't even blink an eye when Travis told him to put a camera pen on the pizza guy.  Wes just pulled out a pen and said "Are you sure?" To which Travis replies, "Yeah, he's a liar!"  Too funny....

We finished off our evening with some Women's Gymnastics and a round of hugs before we bid each other adieu.

So unfortunately, Eric Church has not made a music video for this yet, but you can enjoy the song anyway :)

Olympic Hotties

We really just can't get enough of all these fit men on our TV - so we went purusing the internet and stumbled upon a very useful website: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/olympics/2012/athletes.  Since we've shown you our American men, we thought "Hey it's the Olympics, time for the whole world to send out their best - let's find their best!"

This report gave a wonderful explanation: "The world is a melting pot of beauty, a smorgasbord of different styles and flavors. And in the athletic domain, where perfectly-ripped human beings are sculpted and groomed to look ideal, beauty is far from lacking."  So needless to say, we tried to give you a glimpse :)  You can thank us later, but here are some of our top picks.
